Description

Do you have a Z650 or z900 with an Oxford Heated Grip as well as a tall windscreen? If you answered yes to all of those, then this model may work for you!

The reason I built this model is that I was just sick of the terrible location I had on my handlebars with the “mount” provided by Oxford. It just looked cheap and collected a TON of bugs.

The concept behind this was to create a sneaky location that for the most part only I can see and have it look visually appealing. I did add a fuzzy texture to the print profile so it matches the other molded pieces on the bike. If you want to skip the fuzzy texture, I would suggest sticking with .16 or .20mm layer heights when printing PETG.

So far I've only tested it with my Powerbronze 400mm windscreen and it leaves about 2-3mm between the windscreen and the part, but it could work for the Puig windscreen. This part will NOT fit with the stock windscreen in place, you need about 65mm of room from the back edge of the display going at a 48 degree angle based on the angle of the display.

This model is quite tough, there isn't a whole ton of deflection due to the added bridge on the back but I would recommend printing this with something other than PLA. I printed this with PETG HF and I will see how it fairs in 90-100f temperatures next year, however, I may change this out for other tougher filaments in the future.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please drop a comment I'm always happy to improve stuff!

If you like this model and want to support more projects like this for the Z series of bikes, a boost would be greatly appreciated!
