The Aircraft

Piper Warrior

The Piper Warrior, first introduced in 1974, is a refinement of the Piper Cherokee series, designed to provide improved aerodynamics, efficiency, and ease of handling. The addition of a tapered wing marked a significant evolution from its predecessor, enhancing climb performance and fuel efficiency while maintaining the Cherokee's reputation for stability. This four-seat aircraft became a favorite among flight schools due to its forgiving handling characteristics and reliability, making it an ideal platform for student pilots. Its simple systems, coupled with its balanced flight characteristics, have helped countless aviators earn their private pilot certificates. The Warrior also excels as a personal aircraft, offering sufficient speed and range for cross-country trips. With a wingspan of 35 feet, a cruise speed of 115 knots, and a range of 520 nautical miles, the Warrior continues to be a popular choice in general aviation, reflecting Piper’s commitment to accessible and capable aircraft design.
