The power of magnets makes it easy to drink from your HydroPak when you need to, while easily and neatly tucking away the tube when you don't.
This is a collection of magnetic attachments for a hydration pack tube, to easily secure it on your backpack. It's compatible with hydropak tubes, and any other brands with 10mm tubing.
In this remix I've added extra attachments, and versions for 8x3mm and 10x3mm magnets
- Tube attachment:
- Fits any 10mm tube. I slid it on the tube, so I removed the hose end first. Even though it's open on one side, which gives it some flexibility and makes it easier to slip on, it's not enough to just clip it on the tube.
- Printed on its side, with no supports, in 0.1mm layers
- Wider tube attachment:
- Fits any 16mm tube. I designed it for tubes with an extra insulation sleeve for winter sports. It should easily clip on the tube without the need to slide it on (and remove the hose end to do so).
- Printed on its side, with no supports, in 0.1mm layers
- “Rail” attachment:
- Design to fit a Ø 3.6mm rail on a backpack strap (mine is a Deuter backpack). I recommend sliding the back in first, then pushing on the front face to clip it to the rail.
- Printed on the magnet side, support on base plate only (for the magnet cavity), in 0.1mm layers
- Clip on attachment:
- Designed for a max 22mm strap or any piece of clothing.
- Printed on its side, with no supports, in 0.1mm layers
- Strap attachment - open
- Designed for a max 18mm strap (similar to the Osprey magnetic kit)
- Printed magnet cavity upwards, with support on base plate only, in 0.1mm layers.
- Strap attachment - closed
- Same attachment as above, but designed to be non-removable, you need to feed the strap through it.
I've also added the .f3d file so you can adjust the model to your needs in Fusion360 using parameters.
The maximum magnet diameter is 10mm, and thickness can be adjusted to pretty much whatever you'd like, though I have not tested other dimensions than what's included here.
