Lid broke at the hinge after first open and close test. Needs thicker lid hinge ring and top of lid has rough surface due to orientation and supports. Needs to be oriented in a way to avoid exterior surface being rough.
Thank you for your feedback, I've only printed it in pla-cf so I've never had any problems with breakage and I can't really reorientate the lid because of the hook that allows it to close, and supports wouldn't work in the hinge, unless you may have an idea? The lid for me was smooth, you can still see some lines though it isn't too ruff. Also the tolerance might be too tight with regular pla for the hinge or not strong enough to take the supports. Thanks for the response. I used PLA-AT that is supposed to be stronger than PLA. Not sure why it failed. I was thinking about trying to edit the file so that the lid could be printed as a separate object on the plate with a C ring that snaps on the cylinder of the base. That would eliminate the tree supports and make it easier and faster to print...
