Description

A1 Mini - AMS Lite - Top Z Mount

This mount attaches directly to the top of the Z-axis aluminum extrusion and does not require any additional hardware.

This replaces 2 of the plastic parts on the top of the z axis and uses the same screws to attach the base of the printed riser. A tight tolerance printed rod is inserted into that and the AMS-Lite cradle slides on top.

Important note:

The long filament PTFE tubes need to be switched with the short ones if you followed the assembly instructions that came with the printer.

The #1 and #3 should have the longer filament PTFE tubes (further away from the printer) Also, follow the locations that are in the photo and test the max distances to make the PTFE tubes do not get tangled. They are a close fit so do this carefully!

The insert slot hole for the Z axis is not deep enough, interfere the block. It is grinding and touch the ceiling of the block. and the rail side is too high.

I end up printing from the other profile has the fix, the 2nd profile appears to have the old model.

works good so far will update after a month of use. needs longer ptfe tube.

I really want to do this i am just worried about there being too much weight on the top of the printer with all 4 spools of filament. Do you have any issues with having this on and printing at high speeds? does it effect quality at all or add any strain to the printer that youve noticed?? Thanks! I look forward to getting to make this :D

Good question! I wanted to know this too actually and I never tested it so I did a quick comparison. I printed 2x of the 17min SpeedBoatRace-Bambu PLA file that comes pre-loaded with the printer. One with the riser and 4 fully loaded spools and one with the riser off. If I had to find the difference I would say the riser causes slightly more ghosting but it's so minimal and you have to catch the right light to see it. I took side-by-side images. I'm thinking about ways to re-enforce the connecting rod mostly for peace of mind. Anyways, hope that helps.

Printed out, but issue with part riser-2, the z rod is rubbing on the indent, it's not deep enough, i have modified mine, but if you look at the depth of the indent on the A1 Mini carry handle you will see it is deeper

Attention, the hole in the attachment is not deep enough, it presses on the shaft, printed with 4/4/4 thickness.

This is a great design, starting print, will update once installed Printed and after modifying riser 2 and gluing it all together, working great, no wobble from ams lite, nice clean prints
