Description

UPDATE: Vindr4 asked for a 2-part PLA-only model. I misread this as a joined, PLA model. Well. I did some tinkering with the fit and created both! There are three more files:

  1. RosaryHolderPLAONLY: like the original, but modified to work well with PLA (thinner joining member, no stiffener, looser tolerances).
  2. RosaryHolder_PLA_V2_Separate: Separate bodies and I cut the crosses all the way through so there's no overhangs in case your printer struggles with that.
  3. RosaryHolder_PLA_V2_Separate_Solid_Cross: Recessed cross like RosaryHolderPLAONLY

Howdy,

Many years ago my wife bought me a rosary from the Vatican. It came in a poly carbonate plastic case which ended up cracking over the years and breaking entirely recently. Well Bambulab just released TPU for the AMS and I thought I'd have a whack at making something compliant and useful. The model features a flexible and soft-ish TPU design. I integrated some PLA stiffeners into the model to keep the tops rigid and crush-proof. I've had great success printing these out of gray TPU and white PLA, or white TPU and gold PLA. Really whatever works best for you.

Printed on an X1C with 0.4mm nozzle.

It should mate together securely without any risk of opening on accident.

Holds standard “smaller” rosaries. If you need to fit larger rosaries, you'll need to up-scale by about 10%.
