The not so simple Rubber Band Repeater
Print Profile(1)

Description
I decided to take a break from complex engine modeling to create a ‘simple’ rubber band shooter.
Design goals:
- Use super common rubber bands.
- No tools required to assemble.
- No need to purchase additional hardware.
It turns out I'm enamored with complexity so can't stick to simple. Instead we present to you a rapid repeater which can be loaded with several rubber bands and then launch them in rapid succession. They launch very quickly. The gif file on the model page is actually in slo-mo.
The large wheel is used to load the rubber bands. It has a self ratcheting mechanism so you need only rotate it a few clicks between loading each band and it will hold in place while you load the next band. It can be installed in right or left hand drive. You can also print a second wheel and install both left and right wheels at once (check the optional print plate for the second wheel). The portion where you hook the rubber band is has 70mm of adjustment so you can tweak it to fit your rubber bands or preferred launch speed. Finally, there is a simple, cross-bow style lever at the bottom which you squeeze to launch the loaded bands.
It's easy to assemble and modify but requires a very specific sequence of steps so may be a fun gift for someone who enjoys gadgets.
This is designed to use common #33 rubber bands (3 ½" x 1/8"). Other sizes may work to different degrees. Please share your findings.
I've tried several types and feel the latex free has the best stretch. Links to what I've tried below:
Enjoy!
