About the Tradition:

The Tió de Nadal (or Caga Tió) is a beloved Catalan Christmas tradition. In the days leading up to Christmas, children "feed" the log every night with treats and cover it with a blanket to keep it warm. On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, children gather around the log and sing the traditional Caga Tió song while hitting it with sticks to make it "poop" small gifts, candies, and nougat (torrons). It’s a joyful and magical moment that brings the family together!
