Would you like to give me a boost for my marble run? I would be very grateful, and it would support me in continuing to create and design new things.

Modular Marble Run – Description

This modular marble run offers you virtually unlimited possibilities to design your own ball track.

There are no limits to your creativity and imagination!

You can build the track as large and extensive as you want.

The only requirement is your skill in assembling it.

Design options:

As you can see in the pictures, you can start small and work your way up. Whether loopings, numerous curves or individual track layouts – you can design the marble run to your liking. Your imagination knows no bounds!

What you need:

In addition to the printed parts, you only need:

  1. Silicone tubing (inner diameter 2 mm, outer diameter 4 mm). You can choose the length freely – in my example, about 9 meters were used on three tracks.
  2. Magnetic balls (5 mm diameter). In the text below I explain where you can get these most cheaply.
  3. Marble balls (14 mm diameter), which you can get from Bambu Lab, for example.

My example track:
For my track I used the following parts:

  • 14 Cubes
  • 13 Straight Fastenings
  • 12 Angled Fastenings
  • 65 Connections
  • 14x8 Magnetic balls (112 total)
  • 9 Meters Silicone tubing
  • Start and end pieces

Construction features:
I have placed great emphasis on making the marble run as modular as possible:

  • Easy assembly: The cubes are printed in two parts, which can simply be plugged together. A drop of super glue provides additional stability.
  • Magnetic connections: The printer automatically pauses during the printing process so that you can insert the 4 magnets into the provided holes. These magnets allow you to easily and securely attach the cubes to each other.
  • Fastenings: The fastenings are designed to be slightly more difficult to insert – this is INTENTIONAL. This ensures that they do not fall out during operation when the balls run over them. They sit firmly and securely in the cubes.

You can find the balls at Maqna.com.

There you can get 1000 magnetic balls in size 5mm for 27€.

That's about 3 cents per magnet, which is a really great deal.

I got the silicone tubing from Amazon.

Just enter the data of the hose there (silicone hose 2mm inner 4mm outer and 10 meters long)

This modular marble run is designed for easy assembly while offering high stability and flexibility. All you need is a little patience and your imagination to create impressive constructions.

Have fun building and experimenting! 😊
