Description

My Version of the 3/8 impact packout insert. will fit at least a 4ah battery on the impact, and the bottom storage bin holds small batteries and bolts. It also goes all the way to the top, so items wont fall out.

all the inserts have tabs that go up to the Lid to ensure it stays down. The tab on the middle tray also acts as a handle to remove the tray.

Socket depths ensures that everything stays in its place. Under the shallow sockets is place to store extensions, socket adapters and other bits.

extension slots are designed to be a little snug at the bell side.

Updated 3MF file has been uploaded to include better fitting center section. as well as uploading just the stl version.

To install: press lower section (the smallest section that goes toward the handle) in first. It will be a tight fit, but it will press down. Then install the top section followed buy the middle removable insert.

sockets are sized to this set:

This is really well done, incredibly well put together. However, you will need to fiddle to get it to fit into the packout. I used a 48-22-8435. It does fit, but put the bottom piece in first, and you will have to force it. Then the top piece, and then the sockets. It will be difficult to remove the socket piece for daily usage.

where? In the general file? Cause i agree this is difficult to install and getting to the extensions beneath the sockets is barely possible with the sockets in it. You have to twist and flex and pull the socket insert.

I had replaced the original 3mf file to include the revised insert. something must have happened to the upload if your able to print the original version. I will have a look when I'm back near my computer

waiting for rating to change, I don’t want to negatively effect the creator of this file as it’s not the file or the creators issues with the print. 1 I am using ASA 2 I don’t have a chamber heater 3 I was having a variety of issues on my side 4 I am new to 3D printing

what are you printing with? yes, a negative review will effect things, but your welcome to give your thoughts. I would like to point out that it sounds like an issue with your printer, and not the print, which isn't fair to the upload. I'm pretty sure that ASA requires an enclosure to properly print without warping. this model was printed in PLA

printing with a Bambu p1s has an enclosure. but no chanmer heater. I’m going to install a chamber heater with temperature control over the next few weeks. hopefully that will fix my issues

that's interesting. I thought the P1S could print ASA. Hopefully you can get it to work

how did you get the outline of the impact drawn so well? I’m trying to do the same right now with some other tools and I can’t get it just right. otherwise awesome print

Thanks! I appreciate the the boost. I use solidworks for my designs. It has a feature to import pictures that can be scaled to size (I think most 3d software have this feature). I start by printing that outline with a .10" boarder as a test print, this way I can print how ever many i need to get the shape right.. without costing a fortune in filament. I also use radius guages and my dial caliper to help aid with measurements.

Appreciate the feedback! I luckily found a Reddit post to what I was doing wrong also. Didn’t realize the iPhone cameras are curved so the photos I was using in fusion were pretty skewed. Was definitely frustrating but thank you again

Can you post the STL that is a single piece and not split?

I can when I have some time. It's right in the design, so I will have to do some editing

Looking to make this to organize my sockets. Does this work with the 1/2" stubby as well? I believe the 1/2" and 3/8" are overall the same size otherwise.

yes, the ½'' one fits as well as long as the anvil is lined up with the slot
