Description

This is an 11" x 17" (279x432) picture frame that is printable on an A1 (or similar size printer). The full-size frame has been split in to four pieces that are joined back together with dovetail joints. I have printed in PLA and PETG with no noticeable different in quality/function.

The pictures are dry fit, so there are some small gaps still. I plan on securing them permanently with black JB Weld [1]. This will secure the pieces and mostly fill the visible gaps. The gaps are aligned, so they aren't that unsightly.

Thanks! A little glue required, but love the way it all fits together, and a very easy print. Map can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/938234-usa-frame-map-w-individual-pieces-states-traveled#profileId-903439

this printed great I just wish I could find an expandable one to fit a 10” x 15” or even thinner longer one for about a 22” by 35 so I could have one frame I need for my project

Easy enough to adapt. What size(s) do you want?

I would like to put two colander pages that are 15”x 19” together in one frame with about an inch between and about an inch and a half at the bottom please

So the overall dimensions would be 23"x36", giving an opening of 21x34?

This worked great with scaling adjustments for a 7x14 picture. I rotated the models to print on a smooth plate and had no issues. An improvement here would be to add a way to hang the frame on a wall or to keep the picture in place. In my case I created some basic rectangles to tape into the back to hold the picture in place and put some screw/nail mounting holes to hang it from.

Thanks for the ideas - if I get around to updating the design I'll definitely include them.

I am interested in printing this model, but wondering if it can be modified to be 17" x 17" verses 11" x 17". Thanks.

It would not be stable at all with four dovetail joints.

I am making a jigsaw puzzle is it possible to print a frame 19 1/8 x 26 1/2 inch

Yes in theory but for such a size there would be too many dovetails and it would need to be printed in multiple pieces The quality would really not be great You're better off buying one on Amazon

could you size one for a 18 x 36 opening?

Theoretically, yes, but that size would require multiple dovetail joints. The resulting print and frame quality would be very bad. You're better off getting something that size from Amazon/etc.

the frame fits together but the integrity of it is very poor. We had to tape ours together with electrical tape

Sorry to hear that your print wasn't as expected. The tolerances are extremely tight on the dovetails; I had to force mine together and any adhesives used were mainly to help conceal the seams.
