Description

These are storage boxes for five Nikon DSLR lenses:

28mm f1.8
85mm f1.8
105mm f2.8
10-24mm f3.5-4.5
55-200mm f4-5.6

Essentially, they are boxes with cutouts of the silhouettes of the lens to secure them. There are a couple of millimeters of margin between the lens and the walls.

The boxes are printed with low strength settings to preserve material. These boxes are not meant to protect the lenses during transit, just to more securely keep them in storage.

The boxes are well-tailored to my Nikon lenses. No slipping, not too tight, simple and easy to distinguish by color. Another advantage: the boxes can be stacked. I have also added a cover for dust protection. off the printer! The details on this model are insane!

can you write on how did you create this? I have a odd shaped lens and I need to create a storage box just like these ones.

Hi! Sure! I took a photo of the lens with a light background. In the CAD software, I imported the photo as a background reference, and scaled the photo by measuring the length of the lens. After this, I traced out the outline of the lens, giving it a few mm of leeway. Then I made a block below the outline that I rotated out the outline from, and a block above that I removed the outline from along the Y-axis. I also extracted some channels to put my fingers in to make it easier to remove the lens. Hope this helps!
