Description

This is a colorful lithophane moon clock!

It uses these LED hexagons, powered by USB. They are really fun, have tons of different programs, it can also synchronize the lights with your music. You connect them in a circle and place them in the base. As we want the lithophane to be lit as evenly as possible we need a clock mechanism with a longer shaft, at least 16mm. This also helps with the center of the lithophane to recieve some light, otherwise it would be a shady rectangle in the middle.

Print the rim in the color of your choice, I chose Wood PLA and it looks really good. Secure it on the whole thing with a few drops of superglue.

Put it on a wall and enjoy!

@makarov could you maybe send me the dimensions of the LED tiles you installed? I printed the base and the tiles I ordered from above link do not fit at all. The base is too small and I'm wondering if the actual LED tiles changed in dimensions or if the 3MF file is borked. My tiles are 80.27mm and the tile opening in the base is 76.9mm. Thank you!

Hmm, might also be a user error. Pulling the PCBs out of their casing made everything fit : )

So, did you remove the white housings? I have the same problem. 😅 I'm a bit frustrated right now

Yes I pried out the diffuser with a plastic chip Then there are several small screws and once those are removed you can patiently fumble out the PCBs The pins on which the PCB sits are melted on which makes it slightly annoying I also believe there's a problem with the moon's infill it should have 99% infill right With mine you can see the infill pattern through : / I'm still experimenting at the moment

Incompatible with the specified products, nonetheless a beautiful design, achievable with some rework

Sorry to hear that mate, but it was my mistake, I will correct the description. I didn't know that such slight variations of the same product exist. Thank you nonetheless for your input!
