Printing Settings
The size of rod and cartridge requires a print bed area of 255mm +
PLA prints at standard nozzle size, standard 0.2 layer height, standard print settings
Generic PETG prints normally as well however for BAMBU PETG HF please use the following settings
* Filament flow ratio 0.92 (down from 0.95 default)
* Max volumetric flow 7.0. (down from 20 default)
ADHESION
For PETG use glue stick to avoid adhesion problems especially for rod, lid, screw and stopper it might be better to print cartridge and base first then the rod, then the other parts. Note that rod and screw should be lowered through the build plate slightly to flatten one side and get adhesion. Rod can be printed with brim and then the brim is easily removed.
PRE-PRINT CHECK for PRINT IN PLACE SLIDER
if using your own material and settings, please split the cartridge model in slicer to isolate the print-in-place slider area at the top, and print that (less than an hour) then verify the slider will un-stick, and move freely. If your filament is over-extruding, or generating zits, it will be stuck after the print is finished, be impossible to free up without breaking, and you will waste the whole cartridge print.
Assembly
- Release the plunger inside cartridge by knocking it free
- Release the slider at top of cartridge by wiggling it a bit and carefully knocking it loose (see PRE PRINT CHECK)
- Insert biro spring into slider hole
- Place blocker cylinder behind spring. it should press in, and be difficult to remove
- Thread rod onto plunger make sure it seats flush
- Put spring on rod
- Inspect interior of cartridge remove any zits it should be clean and smooth end to end
- Screw printed screw into base and free up the thread by screwing/unscrewing
- Insert plunger with rod, and clip on the base observing the correct orientation it will click into place
- Slide lid in carefully, a few times, and pull out any filament hairs, check it goes all the way and clicks - this forms the correct gap at the top for one token. if the lid is not fully seated and the gap is too big two tokens can slide out
Loading tokens
- With lid off, pull back plunger to make space and use screw to fix position
- Load all tokens number up, from 001, onto a coathanger wire and lower them into cartridge release rod to hold them
- Pull out coathanger wire
- Slide lid back on, make sure rod is free to move
In use
- Use light finger to slide top token out and hand it to sweaty park runner say “good job!” etc
- If the token is stuck (for example, stuck to one under it) or for other reasons does not come out freely, use eject slider
- Any funnel duckers? tokens can be put into the funnel ducker pocket at side of dispenser
- When dispenser is empty (look through park run logo to see if it is getting low) switch to second, pre-loaded, “B” dispenser. Etc.
