Description

Since my two AMS units are placed in a cabinet above the printer and I wanted to keep the length of the hoses as short as possible, I designed a mounting bracket for the AMS HUB, which places the HUB further up and rotated upwards by 60°. The holder is dimensioned so that you can use the original screws of the filament buffer for mounting.

Although I printed rephratz modified version (my AMS’s still sit to right side of printer, so didn’t need angle), just want to give thanks as his change was based on this design..

excellent mod it puts the hub exactly where it needs to be with 2 ams units on top and allows for shorter tubes

My AMS is on a shelf above the printer. This aligned everything up for a smooth filament flow. Easy to mount but I must say it was a challenge to find screws long and thin enough.

The AMS comes with an additional filament buffer with two M3x21.5 screws included and the HUB was also supplied with two suitable M3x28 screws and you could use the screws from the existing filament buffer so no additional screws are needed. I'm pretty sure that I used original Bambu Lab screws but I have numerous screws in various lengths at home and maybe I took some of them.

Hey. Thanks for this model, seems very interesting (i have the same setup, two AMS "on top" of the X1C). However i don't understand how is the hub itself going to be fixed / attached to this bracket ? (it seems you are not using any inserts)

You do not need thread inserts, as there are no large forces on the hub so that you can turn the screws directly into the plastic in order to cut the thread into the prepared holes directly with the screws.
