Description

I was concerned about the batteries falling out of the small LED bulbs that I was using in the printed bauble. This clip is removable by gently prying between the bauble and the clasp with a thin flat object. I just used the same filament (matte white PLA)

If you follow the instructions for creating a bauble on https://lithophanemaker.com/Lithophane%20Sphere.html and use the cylinder settings as seen in the image it should work for you.

I printed the bauble itself with a diameter of 50mm. Please let me know if this clasp also works with larger diameter globes

I would also recommend putting a small amount of glue in the bauble opening to keep the main body of the LED in the bauble. If done carefully this should not affect the on/off operation of the bulb or the removal of the bulb cap.

These are perfect for what I was looking for! I started out by sizing the cap to fit my ball since I already made them. I filed the inside of the bulb holder to fit my size bulb because I didn't know how to change the size of that area. I preferred it sticking out a bit more, I love the way it looks. It takes the ornament up a notch. Thank you for the design!

Thanks for the comment and encouragement Joyce. I couldn't find anything that existed already, so thought I'd give it a go. It's funny seeing something that was just a concept in your mind turn into a physical object. To then see it help other people, possibly in other parts of the world is what it's all about. I'm sure someone will be able to remix and improve this, but it's a start.
