Description
Son of a Bertha (untested)
As this gets built and flown, modifications will no doubt occur, so check back for possible updates
Print your own Big Bertha styled rocket! Right now, this ‘kit’ of parts has been untested but should fly like the ‘real deal’
All you should need is;
- Estes BT-60 body tube
- Estes BT-50 body tube
- Launch lug or my Rod/Rail combo
- Parachute and shock cord
- Motor retention system (or one of your choice)

The Fins
The fins fit into the fin can slot, hooking in at the bottom then the top is held in place by the BT-60 body tube. One thought I had was to attach the BT-60 using decorative tape so that if a fin replacement was needed, you could easily detach the airframe and remove the broken fin.
The fins should probably be printed separately but don't have to be, especially if you want to have different colors.
The shock cord attaches to the find can, so there is very little stress on the airframe, unless of course the nose cone should stick.
- Print the fins FLAT
- make sure to clean your build plate!!
- use ironing for the top surface.
- Layer height .15
- 4 solid layers for top and bottom
- 2 perimeters
- 20% Octagram Spiral infill
Included is a PrusaSlicer project file.

The Nose cone
- The cubby-hole fits a small altimeter like the Firefly
- I print the nose cone with 3 perimeters and restrict the infill to just the lower section covering the shock cord attachment loop.

Included is a PrusaSlicer project file.
