Description

Hey guys,

Here we have a set of brackets for turning your ender 5 plus extruder into a direct drive setup, well a pov spec direct drive setup anyway.

I made these as i ended up having some major issues with the standard bowden style setup and have found this to be a much nicer way to run the machine.

There are 3 brackets shown in the model but you will only need 2 of them.

1 is the main bracket which mounts to the carriage v-wheels using the original spacers - i recommend supergluing the spacers in but works fine without.

The other 2 are the spacer brackets for the extruder, 1 is for a non adjustable style and the other (has the notch) is for adjustable style standard creality extruders.

along with these brackets what you will need for the conversion is an extruder extension cable which can be found pretty cheap on amazon/ebay and 3x m3x35 bolts and washers.

what you will notice is that the extruder now spins backwards so instead of feeding it retracts. Easily sorted issue, may vary from printer to printer not certain but on mine i swapped pin 1 and 3 on the extension cable going into the extruder stepper motor to reverse it.

I do recommend remounting the filament spool above the printer somehow as it wont feed reliably from the stock position under the rear of the machine.

I simply mounted mine to the wall next to the machine.
