I designed this slightly overly-complicated twist on a trumpet that is fully 3d printed! Typical brass instrument valves function by redirecting flow of air to different lengths of tubing to change the pitch of the instrument, and thereby play different notes. Instead of doing that, I decided to just have several valves that move slides (similar to a trombone) to extend the tubing length. All-in-all there are 6 valves at play here and they have the following lengths:

1st, 2nd, 3rd = 70mm (valve only needs to be depressed by 35mm since the U-tube doubles it)

4th, 5th = 90mm

6th = 110mm

I based the slide lengths off of a typical B-flat trumpet's valve combinations, and how much those lengthened the tubing, and made the conversion chart below:
