Description

I couldn't find any 10:1 Lego Hair I liked (and was easy to print) so I came up with my own model!

The hair is cut in half for easier printing and sized to fit 10:1 Lego-like megafigs, namely Julia's megafig (which I used to take the pictures).I also uploaded the un-cut hair.stl if you'd like to cut it yourself!

Supports are enabled by default. Will require some glue to put together, but in my experience both sides of the hair stay on the head by themselves (for the most part). I'll eventually add a version with connector pins/pegs for easier assembly.

took some messing with to not get tree supports to pop off early in the build... added a 2 layer raft and increased the size of the tree bases. also auto oriented the hair to the build plate and knocked off 40-50 grams of wasted support and saved about 1.5hrs. Printed great but sadly never realized it was oversized 😭

love it, a piece came off during printing - but printed the whole thing perfectly

printed the one piece so I didn’t have a seam. it doesn’t add much more support material and I think you get a better end result.

Flashforge AD5M 0.4mm nozz at 0.20mm layer height @8% rect infill Sunlu PLA+ "coffee brown" Printed the model in 2 parts, and glued together with clamps Was a little loose fit on head but simple enough to use a folded post-it note, folded over the top circle so gap is reduced and snuggly fits the hair piece. Thanks!

this turned out great! mine fits a little loose on the head but that’s ok. I took the “complete” hair file and dropped it into TinkerCAD because when I went to scal it up to the 250% that I am printing my Big Brink man at it was very big. this tells me that the hair wasn’t sized for that figure. so in TinkerCAD I dropped the Hair and the head part to the Big Brick Man and shrunk the hair to that size. then set the head to a void to ensure a snug fit….its not snug but I like how it came out. thank you for the contribution to the site. (update) my finished Big Block Man at 250% Scale with the hair

The printing went very well. Looks great. Would you also have the option of creating women's hair?

I print it as one piece so maybe that was part of the issue. The supports on the straight side hair pieces busted off one of them. and one of the hair nodules didn't finish printing correctly. I'm going to try to fix that with the filament pin. otherwise it looks pretty good.

why is the hair cut in half as dimensions 100% while the one-piece hair is 101%? I'll try to explain the reason for my question. I'm printing the Mega Lego-like Minifigure (10:1 scale) but in 160% scale. To do this, I change the percentage from 100% to 160%. So if the hair cut in half is 100% I have to set 160% while for the one-piece hair I should set 161.6%, but I don't want to make a mistake and throw away the print. Finally, if I can give you some advice, in the hair cut in half version, I would add some dowels or connectors, to make the union and alignment while gluing easier and more precise.
