Description
Uniquely designed for stair tread restoration to collect dust with a vacuum cleaner. Sharing this design because it proved highly effective. The attachment is suitable for the Metabo WEV 15-125 angle grinder. I don't know if other Metabo tools have the same fitting.
A successful project requires additional components. An adapter, which I repurposed as a spacer, was necessary because otherwise the angled construction would have been too tight. A strip brush with a fiber height of 15mm, which is grooved. Standard sanding pads should fit. I used this one. Since the spacer is intended for a different purpose, I still need to fabricate a bolt with an M14 thread (from a threaded rod) to which the pad can be simply screwed.
The brush was only sufficient for this single project because the constant contact with the stair tread walls partially abraded the brush. Nevertheless, the dust was effectively removed. On open surfaces, the brush lasts considerably longer.
