Description

A simple DIY Button Box, designed for use with DCS World, but also suitable for MSFS.

I still fell short on binds despite owning a decent WinWing HOTAS system. I wanted to create a simple button box to reduce my reliance on my mouse and keyboard.

This button box solves for key inputs on the F/A-18, F-16 and A-10C that had no place on the Hotas (E.G. Laser Arm, PAC Enable).

All components were purchased on AliExpress.

All slots in the lid include keying for the toggles & rotaries.

Printed mine in Bambu Matte PLA Charcoal for a smooth look.

BOM:

3 x mini momentary toggles - on (off) on
2 x mini rotary encoders

6 x mini momentary switches
1 x arduino pro micro
4 x M2 Heat Set Inserts
4 x 8mm M2 Screws

1 x USB A - USB C Cable

Roughly followed the tutorial here for electronics & coding:

I used https://makerworld.com/en/models/528617#profileId-445716 amazing encoder knobs for my final build.
