Description

These are simple height guides that show the standard heights of Gridfinity modules. Gridfinity has a standard height unit of 7mm often denoted as 1u. Optionally a stacking lip may be added which also adds 4.4mm on to the height of the module. This is all in accordance with the specification provided here https://gridfinity.xyz/specification/. Each guide has the height of a module without the stacking lip on the left side and with on the right.

Each print profile contains multiple plates with with different combinations allowing you to print the full set of 4, set of 3,2 or the just the individual guides.

Please see examples below:

You have gifted me the final key to Gridfinitizing my life: visualizing grid unit heights with and without stacking lips. That deserves a boost.

Im guessing its on me for using Basic Black PLA with Matte Ice Blue, but the first time I tried this print (all 4 sizes, dual colour), it failed when it got to the 8th level. Seems like every 2 “levels” when it made the swap to the blue for the second layer of the numbers the nozzle would crash into the purge. For my second attempt i skipped the lowest step, added brims, moved the tower closer and every 2nd level I paused the print and flush cut the glob of blue off the top of the tower. I haven’t had any issues with either of these spools before, so kinda strange. The raised numbers look super cool, but lower or flush numbers would have still been fine. Again, probably on me here as I’m quite new to all this, but super useful tool so thank you. :)

Perfect, I love it. I used a paint pen on the numbers. It’s nice just having a tangible object instead of a ruler for a perfect fit.

Very nice design, and easy print. Great way to test or visualize standard heights for gridfinity. And when not in use, your spouse can ask you "what is this, a staircase for ants?" too. :)
