Description
The Aircraft
Aichi D3A "Val"
Development Background: The Aichi D3A was designed as Japan’s primary carrier-based dive bomber, with an emphasis on precision strikes against ships. It was the first Japanese plane to drop bombs on Pearl Harbor, signaling the beginning of the Pacific War.
Interesting Facts:
- The Val was noted for its accuracy, thanks to the skill of its pilots and the aircraft's dive-bombing capabilities.
- Despite its success in early engagements, it suffered heavy losses as Allied air defenses improved.
- Its flexibility allowed it to serve as both a bomber and a kamikaze aircraft in the final years of the war.
The Model
This was a fun aircraft to model and build. Went together smoothly, parts should make sense to get into the right positions. Refer to images or reach out to me if you have any questions.
