Paddle tire / wheel for 1/16 RC car
2025 Feb 15: Added a new tire model which fits the same wheel
Need a tire to attack snow or sand with your Traxxas 1/16 (or anything else using the same bolt pattern) ? Here's the answer! A big TPU paddle tire with its wheel.
A little heavier than the stock MERV wheels (67g vs 62g) but quite bigger, gives a nice monster truck look!
You will need some force to put the tire on the wheel, its a tight fit. I recommend using a table and pushing the rim on the tire. Here are abusively detailed instructions, followed by some pictures of the procedure:
- Place the tire on a table
- Align the notch of the rim with the one on the tire
- Insert the rim in the tire then apply force.
- When the rim reaches the notch, apply force on a side to slip over the notch
- Apply force in a circular way to finish fitting the rim inside the tire
- Turn the wheel inside the tire to make sure to properly align the notch, it will then be kept in place
- Repeat for all tires (make sure to make 2x left and 2x right)
- If you need to separate them again, be ready to some hard thumb work :P
