PETG printing is strongly recommended. Because some parts are slender and easily damaged during handling, it is recommended to increase the infill and print the connecting rod separately to ensure reliability.

If you like it, you can give a thumbs up and support me. In the next issue, I will bring you more fun models.

The following is an introduction.

Taurus USA, also translated as "Taurus," is a Brazilian light weapons company's US subsidiary. For 20 years, the company has used the moniker "Raging XX" to name its high-powered revolvers, the first being the "Raging Bull." This "Raging Hunter" is an improved version of the "Raging Bull" and is the most powerful hunting revolver in the series.

The power of a handgun is largely determined by the ammunition. The "Raging Hunter" uses rather unique ammunition, the .454 Casull (second from the right). From the comparison chart above, we can see that the common 9×19mm ammunition (fourth from the left) is definitely a child's toy in comparison. This powerful ammunition is commonly used in revolvers, equipped with a 240-grain (16g) projectile, with a muzzle velocity of 580 m/s and a kinetic energy of 2607 joules; equipped with a 360-grain (23g) projectile, the muzzle velocity is 434 m/s, with kinetic energy of 2200 joules. The 5.56×45mm M855A1 ammunition only has a kinetic energy of 1859 joules.

I previously owned a .454 Casull caliber "Raging Bull," which I used as a self-defense weapon while fishing along the Alaskan coast to guard against sudden encounters with North American brown bears. However, I never used this handgun. When a bear appeared, I would throw out a few fish and leave by boat. The only time I used this handgun was to drive away seals that were coming ashore during high tide to steal the salmon that were hooked. I shot at the seals in single-action mode from over 90 meters away, but I did not intend to hit them; I only wanted to drive them into the sea. It seems that the author is also a bully to the weak…

The "Raging Hunter" is a large revolver. The test gun's caliber was .44 Magnum (not the top-of-the-line .454 Casull), with an overall length of 366mm, a barrel length of 213mm, a height of 163mm, a width of 46mm, and an unloaded weight of 1559g, with a 6-round cylinder capacity. The rear of the rubber grip has a layer of soft red rubber to reduce the impact of recoil. It is available in stainless steel and matte blue, with a suggested retail price of $919, approximately 6153 RMB.

The fixed front sight is paired with a rear sight that tilts backward. The height and left-right adjustment of the U-shaped rear sight can be adjusted. Both are matte blue. A 13-slot Picatinny rail is directly machined onto the aluminum frame, allowing for the direct mounting of an optical sight. During testing, a Trijicon RM06 RMR LED reflex sight was used. The steel barrel is mounted inside the frame, which reduces the weight of the front. The barrel can theoretically be replaced, but it is recommended to return it to the factory or have it done at a qualified gun store. The holes on both sides of the muzzle allow the propellant gases to be ejected upwards at a 45° angle, effectively reducing recoil and muzzle rise.

The red buffer pad on the grip is glued to the rubber grip and provides reliable grip regardless of whether the grip is dry or not, making it suitable for all-weather use. Cheap revolvers may exhibit one or more cylinders that do not fully align with the barrel. This causes the copper jacket of the projectile to be scraped off during firing and blown into the shooter's face by the propellant gases. Therefore, when shooting a revolver, it is best to wear polycarbonate safety glasses. However, this "Raging Hunter" did not exhibit this problem. During the test, hundreds of rounds were fired without any malfunctions.

This is the 160-grain Honey Badger ammunition made of solid copper from Montenegro used in the test. The "Raging Hunter" had no problems with loading or ejection. After firing high-pressure ammunition, the cartridge often sticks to the chamber. The cylinder lock is reliable and there were no malfunctions during rotation. This is a double-action revolver; you can choose the long-stroke double-action mode, with an average trigger pull of 37.5 N. Or use your finger to cock the hammer for single-action shooting, which gives you a "zero-stroke" single-action trigger, with a trigger pull of 15 N. After some practice, you can easily lock the cylinder into alignment with the barrel, leaving a 3mm stroke to release the hammer.

The "Raging Hunter" uses a double-cylinder lock; both must be pressed simultaneously to unlock the cylinder and swing it out to the left. In the reliability test, after some practice, I was able to easily hit a circular steel target (diameter 152 mm) from 91.4 meters away.

The accuracy test was shot at a distance of 23 meters, with five rounds per group. A total of four types of ammunition were tested: Montenegro 160-grain solid copper Honey Badger, SIG 240-grain Elite Performance V-Crown JHP, Federal 240-grain Fusion JHP, and Hornady 240-grain XTP. The spread of all ammunition was very close. The SIG V-Crown JHP had the highest accuracy, with a group diameter of 28 mm.

With the "Raging Hunter's" unique grip design and barrel vents, when shooting 240-grain ammunition, the recoil felt similar to that of a .357 Magnum.
