Introducing Edd-e

Edd-e is a 3D printable robot designed for easy and efficient printing, while allowing for a wide range of motion and expression, as well as to be customizable with different faces and chest plates. I hope you enjoy it!

Model features

  • Print in place: the robot body comes out fully assembled from the printing plate. It will come out rigid, you'll have to snap out the joints to enable its free motion. It's kind of satisfying actually.
  • Customizable face and chest plates: I have designed some preset faces and chest plates for you to choose from, but you can create your own plates with your logos, letters or any graphics that you like.
  • No printing supports needed: for optimal material usage.
  • Printable without AMS: using the First Layer Color Technique (find more details below).
  • Easy to assemble: with no need for extra parts or glue (you may still want to use a bit glue for better fixation).
  • Keychain hole: features a keychain hole at the back of its head.

Multicolor without AMS

This model is designed to be printable in multicolor even without an AMS. Since all plate graphics are just one layer thick (0.2 mm), you can print the graphics first, and then safely print the main plate bodies on top.

Learn more about this technique here: Multicolor Tutorial (No-AMS)

Look for First Layer Coloring Technique.
