Espresso Retractable WDT Tool - Magnetized Action
I personally use the Weiss Distribution Technique (known as WDT) in my espresso puck prep but wasn't totally satisfied with the tool I had at home. Sort of inspired by a bolt action pen mechanism, I decided to take on the challenge of designing a magnetized retractable WDT tool and I'm pretty proud of the outcome. This tool is easy to print and assemble with minimal hardware.
Features :
- Magnetized action with slider for satisfying feel
- Uses 4 6x2mm round magnets
- Uses 6 0.35 x 50mm needles
- Overvall lenght : 80mm
- Handle lenght : 30mm
- Needle lenght : 50mm
- Super glue is needed for this assembly
Printing :
- Print all the pieces in the provided orientation
- Use a basic 0,20mm layer height profile
- Activate tree supports only for the sleeve
Assembly Instructions
NOTE
The needles will stick out by 55mm from the bottom of the carrier (referencing the pictures). If there isn't enough length sticking out, the needles won't find their way out through the holes. Longer needles might also work, but I only tested the design with the mentionned needles.
