Inspired by this design, I made these trimming spinner tools as a simple, no-support, snap-fit 3D print. They are a Christmas present for my ceramicist sister (hopefully she doesn't see this before Christmas!😂) I made it in the same two sizes with an outer diameter of either 6cm or 4cm.

I went through a couple iterations to make sure the spin was both smooth and low friction. You will notice that the two pieces do not fully touch as there is a small ~0.5mm gap between them. This provides a smooth glide while it spins. I did include ironing on the mating surfaces in case there is any contact as well.

To assemble the two pieces together, they do require some force. Place one side on a hard surface and then press the other side firmly onto it. As shown below, it is possible to do it one handed like this while taking a shaky video. 😂 If you have any issues, please leave a comment and I will work on a V3!

Possibly a version with teeth or more texture on the bottom so i don't have to stick it on so hard

What I was having to do was stick it on with water and pressure, which worked well if I got it centered but I couldn't get it off without using a scary amount of pressure

it printed without problems and clicked together well but can’t get them to spin when trimming

I'm sorry it's not spinning for you. some people have said that sanding the surfaces that touch while spinning can help with that.
