Description

Boost Me (for free)

Thank you so much for considering to support my efforts. Designing in OpenSCAD, maximizing customizability, validating everything extensively, printing loads of test prints, etc., is both very time- and cost-intensive. Therefore, if you can spare a Boost, I'm more than grateful for that! But every View, Download, Print, Comment and Rating helps immensely in terms of motivation and development costs in the form of MakerWorld points I gain.

Also, please consider giving me a follow.
Apart from being up-to-date on my most recent creations, it would greatly aid me in acquiring a Commercial License Membership.
This will in turn enable me to offer you commercial licenses for my eligible models.
This way you aren't restricted as much by the Standard Digital License and could even sell prints of my models.

Summary

A weighing pad for the Bookoo Themis Mini scale, which supports two cups at once.

The dimensions are intentionally pretty tight, so the pad kind of “clips”/"clamps" on the scale, so it doesn't slide around.

I did print and would advise to print it in (food safe) PETG, due to possible contact with coffee and because of the temperature resistance of the material. You wouldn't want it to deform on accidental spills.

Why do I need this?

The Bookoo Themis is a perfect cute scale!

It works insanely good and even better in combination with my Decent espresso machine compared to my previous Acaia Lunar (2021) which caused various problems.

With the Lunar, however, I was able to fit, albeit barely, two cups beside each other, to utilize a faster workflow for guests, using a double-spouted Portafilter.

With the Bookoo you can't fit two on the stock weighing surface, maybe if you use two small espresso cups.

This is how this weighing pad was born. I designed it to fit up to two NotNeutral Flat White cups.

Its width is approximately double that of the default weighing pad, while retaining the height of the original, as well as the “notch” design also present on the scale itself, to produce a sleek profile.

The extending parts have a curved bridge form underneath, to try to help support the outlying weight.

Adaptation

I provided the parametric Fusion 360 profile, for any modifications you desire.

If you want to increase the height, extend the pad further in width, or increase the thickness for heavier cups, you can adapt the design easily to your needs.

Customizer Tutorial

I try to design every possible model in OpenSCAD.

This enables me to offer you extensive, fine-grained, and in-depth customizability.

You can effortlessly adapt the model(s) to your needs, without any knowledge or proficiency in CAD.

If the model is compatible, you can access the Customizer by pressing the Customize button.

This functionality seems to also be available on mobile just recently!

Then customize the model(s) to your heart's content!
I often try to a ready-to-go .3mf file, so you can directly open it in Bambu Studio. This means that all slicer settings are already embedded.
However, that's not always possible. If the download/export of your customized model results in one or more STL files:

  • Open the print profile in Bambu Studio
  • Right click on the default model/STL
  • “Replace with STL” selecting your exported STL, to preserve fine-tuned print settings

All of this is made possible due to MakerWorld's excellent OpenSCAD integration, called Parametric Model Maker (which I refer to as Customizer).

They also offer a Fusion360 integration, but it is mentioned that this might become a restricted/non-free option in the future.

However, I want my designs to be accessible for anyone, so I chose to use OpenSCAD exclusively despite the considerable design and development overhead to provide you with the maximum degree of customization freedom.
