Enhance your Ikea Skadis board with a touch of brilliance using this LED frame!

The design comes in two sizes — 76x56 and 56x56 — and is optimized for straightforward printing and assembly. For the 56x56 version, you’ll need two of each corner piece, plus four horizontal and four vertical segments. For the larger 76x56 version, simply add two additional middle horizontal pieces.

Secure the frame to your Skadis panel using 24 plugs designed for a snug fit.

Once assembled, attach your preferred LED strip along the inner edge of the frame. Dedicated slots at each corner ensure neat cable management for power connections.

I chose WS2812B LED strips for their stunning effects, but the design accommodates various options.

Mount the finished panel, switch on the lights, and enjoy a dazzling display that combines functionality with flair!

Looks really great. DId you print the frame with translucent filament such that the light can shine through to outside?

Great frame, it really solved my issues with the other variants that i had. I printed it with white PETG, but i will make another variant in clear PLA. Thank you so much!

Absolutely TOP! It turned out great. Beautifully detailed work, you can't even see the screws on the wall through the Skadis anymore. Top!

I opted for printed Skadis walls, but only two diagonally opposite corners fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the other two corners don't fit due to the offset row of holes (see image). I noticed that the original Skadis walls have an odd number of hole rows, while the printed walls have an even number of hole rows. Would it be possible to make corners for an offset row of holes?

I'm sorry but this model fits only original Skadis and I can't know the exact measurements for a printed one which is not really compatible and there are so many each one could have different ones. What I would suggest is to glue them instead using holes.

This is not a problem. Then I'll get started and design suitable corners that fit into the design at my convenience 😁

Super, it looks simply great. I printed the frames in transparent PETG on my A1 mini and worked with COB LED strips. I cursed quite a bit because I have no idea about electrics, but in the end it worked. The lighting is integrated into Apple HomeKit and can be controlled via app or voice control

Nice design, printing it right now. Small note, I noticed a potential mistake: all the side/corner elements have the horizontal and vertical parts (i.e. the frame and the connector ears) reinforced with a chamfer, but this is missing from the horizontal side pieces (Horizontal.stl).

Thanks a lot for sharing your design and idea. Super amazing. I used the 76x56 as they fit perfect over the middle.
