Assemble Your Own Handheld Game Console!

This open-source handheld game console utilizes components with a minimum size of 0603, simplifying assembly. It features a complete power supply system, casing, screen, speaker, and employs Funkey firmware, enabling emulation of GB, GBC, GBA, FC, SFC, MD, PS1, DOS, CPS1, and CPS2.

This model is part of the exclusive TuZhu project and may not be uploaded to other platforms.

If you desire the button color scheme depicted in my photographs but wish to avoid procuring numerous components, you can acquire a pre-printed, complete button set matching the pictured arrangement. Search “超太空鲜榨香油” on Xianyu.

Basic Information:

Casing: Printed using a Bambu Lab printer

Main Control: Allwinner V3S ARM Cortex-A7, Clock Speed: 1.2GHz

Power Management Chip: AXP209

Display Screen: 320x480 RGB

Battery: 504070 or custom capacity

Buttons: Conductive rubber, micro-switches, or tactile switches (choose one)

Speaker: 7mm thickness, under 20mm diameter

I have designed two casing styles for this handheld console. One employs a unitary design for both front and rear panels, while the other utilizes independent front and rear panels, as well as separate front and rear bezels, encouraging creative color combinations – what I term the “Highly Customizable Casing.”

Casing Combination Guide:

Let’s discuss the modular casing first. This design, requiring the most extensive development, consists of: a front panel, front casing, front bezel, rear bezel, rear casing, and rear panel. I’m providing a separate 3D-printable screen frame with cutout for the front panel; for the rear panel, I offer three 3D-printable versions featuring different logos, along with acrylic template files.

To construct the modular casing, you will need to download these files

Omitting the acrylic panel negates the need to download the epanm file

Omitting purely 3D-printed panels eliminates the need to download the 3MF panel files

A multitude of combination methods are at your disposal.

Unitary Casing:

This version consists only of the front and rear casings and buttons, limiting color combination options. The advantage lies in simpler printing. However, I've had difficulties printing my rounded corner and chamfered version. Advanced users are welcome to share print profiles enabling flawless printing of a rounded casing!

Button Section:

I’ve designed new shoulder button models for improved printability, provided as a separate file. If you experience issues printing the shoulder buttons from the button assembly, consider using these alternative models.

My PCB accommodates three button types: microswitches, tactile switches, and conductive rubber.

Let's focus on the microswitch version: directional and ABXY buttons utilize microswitches, while start and select employ tactile switches. This version offers the most streamlined design and the best tactile feedback. The currently uploaded button files are designed for use with this microswitch version. Files for the other two versions will be uploaded following comprehensive testing; for now, you don't need to purchase conductive rubber.

Note that the D-pad requires a small spring. Order “Spring Steel, 0.3mm diameter (pack of 10)” and specify “0.3 x 4 x 10mm” in the order notes. Cut each spring in half to obtain two.

Definitely like the two part mold better than the four part mold. So much easier to put together :D
