6500K White LED Light Strip (1pcs) - KA004 / White (41100)

Description

I printed a few other light boxes for my other siblings, but found there was no jayhawks light box. I've been wanting to learn fusion 360, so finally took the opportunity. I used a knife to cut the hole for my LEDs to avoid prescribing how others do it, but may upload a new version later with some passthrough.

This is my first fully custom model in fusion 360, so I would love your support to keep up the motivation!

Kudos for taking on the task of learning and making this yourself. I did the same and enjoy the hobby even more! You saved me from having to make the lightbox and will happily print it now! Thank you!! Added cutouts for my power adapter and switch. Turned out GREAT!!!

I have printed the front and am currently printing the case. I have a question. I am learning the process to make the lightboxes, but have yet to create my own yet. I would like to double one of the first few layers as my blue shows through very brightly (too brightly) but can not figure out how, or if, I can double in the slicer? If necessary, I may need to try in Fusion360 to select and duplicate the face, but thats going to be a learning experience for sure. Any thoughts? I had thought maybe the paint height adjust, but think it will only apply 1 color and cant figure out how to select and clone a layer in bambu slicer. Looks great so far, Im on my second blue and they are just a bit too translucent for my lighting.

If you open up the "Objects" tab, expand "Plate 2", then "KU Light Box v3.step". Select the objects you want to scale. In the top bar select the "Scale" tool, uncheck "uniform scale", and set the Z height you want. If you see my attached image, you can see the blue segments on the interior are significantly taller than the model uploaded here.

Thanks for the help. I was still having issues, as for whatever reason as I would enter a new value in the Z location, I would get an error from the slicer as it showed a cantilevered surface. What I found was that if I only did the blue and took it from 1mm to 4mm it would add 1.5 below and above causing the blue to be the only first layer, with the others hanging midair. I finally found that there is a keyboard shortcut if you click on the keyboard icon that says "CNTR+L mouse button = single sided scaling. This seemed to work well. It printed properly, but Im waiting to get more lights to see how the colors translate when lit. Thanks a bunch for the help, it looks awesome.

oh that's a great tip - thank you for sharing it! I admit I had only quickly tried this and didn't pay attention to slicing it after I messed with what I included in the image - my mistake there.

Thank you for the feedback! Was your first run possibly on filament that needed a dry cycle?

yep you got it - I had dried the filament minus the red which is what messed up. Thanks again for your print

Yeah, I printed it on both an A1 and an X1C - so there's no reason the P1S wouldn't be able to. If you do it, please share your profile and success!
