Description

Modled after Si-Techs quick glove system. I printed these prototypes in red PLA+ and found they work just fine underwater. I will still print another set in Nylon Carbon Fiber for durability, but for now I'll see how well these hold up.

Two different sizes to choose from. My original concept was for a double gasket system, but due to my large hands the walls became too thin to accommodate. So measuring across the back of your hand if its over 3" or 80mm, go with the single gasket file. If you have hands larger than 3-1/2" or 90mm, these will not work well, if at all. Print the Dam Ring first and see if you can get your hand through it to determine best.

O-ring is Nitrile Rubber 95mm OD 88mm ID 3.5mm W available at hardwarestores or online.

Dam Ring goes inside the glove and the glove goes into the cuff ring. The dam ring is tapered and binds the glove into place. After donning you suit the gloves press into the Si-Tech quick cuff.

DO NOT LUBE THE O-RINGS. You can use talc, some wax, a little soap or even spit, but do not use any grease. I tried a very lite application of Silicone grease and they pop right off from the compression of the rings themselves. A squirt of baby shampoo and water helped them go right on and stay in place.

Great idea and thanks for sharing! Saved me about $150 (Canadian). I've been working on printing water tight objects in ABS and think I found a decent profile (I've added it as a profile to this model). Hopefully it helps others out. I just happened to have red ABS loaded up in my printer, so looks the same as the author's print. I haven't tested these on a dive yet, but I've tested my print profile to 30 feet and they slide into the cuff really snug, so I'm confident they'll work just fine. I thought about modifying the model to use a thicker o-ring after reading the description, but saw that the original si-tech system uses 2.5mm o-rings, so the 3.5 should be great. I got these ones (https://amzn.to/483lxBC) and didn't need to use any lubricant or talcum.power to get them on and off.

Looks great! Im still using the red PLA prototypes I made. Was going to print new ones in black, but the red has really grown on me. I went with the 3.5mm o-ring for 2 reasons. 1) Easier to source not only online, but also at local hardware stores. 2) The thicker o-ring has a bigger "footprint" for sealing against the printed layers. Wanted to make it so there wouldnt be a need for post processing to get a seal. I've only had one issue so far with leaking at depth. It think it was because I didnt have the inner ring seated evenly. I took it apart and put it back together and that seemed to fix the problem. Happy diving!

Reprinted in Black ABS (because I care too much of what others think of me 😅). Took them down to 35 feet with no leaks or issue! Thanks again for this print.

I doubt it wouldwork on the DUI zip seals. these were designed for use with the round Si-Tec glove system.

Have you tried them extensively? I am thinking of giving it a try. Do I need to remove my usual latex wrists?

I've had them down 3ATA and no leakage. I did find that they can be a bit hard getting on and off if you are alone. Leave your wrist seals in. These press into the outer cuff. I use a small piece of cave line at my wrist so I can equalize the gloves at depth.
