Description
The modular lantern is all about experimenting and changing throughout the year with over 300 inserts now available, but it's not just about inserts you can completely change the look by swapping out tops and skirts with those provided here.
You can download the latest Mk3 lantern here.

A boost is just that. A huge boost to my confidence and reason to keep modelling and sharing in this fantastic hobby. Thankyou!
The Bell

Beautifully curved this top goes well with the WideBand handle and works with all Mk3 toppers.
The Concave

A touch of the orient maybe, this goes well with the flat top set of toppers.
Narrow Serpentine
First what do I mean by narrow? Narrow skirts protrude half way between the core and the overhang of the tops. Non narrow skirts protrude the same distance as the tops.

The serpentine curve is often seen on the base of furniture, I think this pairs well with the concave top or even just the core.
Narrow Chamfer
Just a simple chamfer that adds a bit of weight to the base of the lantern and works well with all tops.

Serpentine
Back to the Serpentine but the full sized one, because this has the same top size as the straight skirt you can place it under the straight skirt, then you get a scaled up version of the narrow serpentine.

Of course you can combine with other parts too, just experiment.

Vertical Skirts
You can tell I struggle with names! But these have a straight vertical edge. You can see the narrow one on top of the serpentine in the picture above.

Then we have Standard size which has the same height as the frame size and a Standard Tall which is just a bit taller. It's height matches the size of the edge of the straight skirt, so if you place that on top you get a scaled up version of the Narrow Chamfer:

The simplicity of the vertical skirt works well with the core and a flat top:

Membership
You are free to print these for personal use, but for other purposes please support me by purchasing a commercial membership giving you the rights to sell the printed models. Thanks!
Bonus Christmas Inserts
These were originally released with the Mk2 version of the lantern on this page. I'm now trying to simplify the set of model pages to avoid multiple versions being available at the same time so have moved the Mk2 profile to the Main Lantern page.

Slicing
I use a 5% Gyroid or similar infill and 2 Walls. To reduce any of the internal structure showing through to the outer surface I use outer/inner wall order, and the Arachne wall algorithm.
Backwards compatibility
Note that Mk3 Cores, Tops and skirts work with your existing Mk2 parts.
Toppers are best paired with the same version of top but Mk2 ones will fit Mk3 using magnets just not the other way around.
The skirts are compatible with all standard size versions of the lantern (Mk1, Mk2, Mk3)
The tops can equally fit on top of all versions, and accept Mk2 toppers using magnets but note the Mk2 toppers have a chamfer on the bottom which will be visible, I have remodelled all toppers, updating them to Mk3 versions which work with the MagFit clips or magnets.
