Description

I play a lot of airsoft and i have always been a big fan of Fortis!

I made this Fortis Pistol Grip for the GBBR M4 platform, it is made to go directly on your GBBR with the fireselect spring insert aswell.

I like the grip both in aesthethics and in ergonomics, as i have quite big hands and the grip excels here!

Prints in place, no supports needed.

I would recommend using filaments like PETG, ABS, ASA and such, as PLA could break easy depending on the weight of your GBBR.

Please don't forget to Rate and/or comment/post your finished project, it's always nice to see other peoples kits!

The only black filament I have at the moment is PETG, so I used that in the profile instead of PLA. The side facing to the front looked pretty good. However, as the print got taller, I could see that things weren't looking so great in the back. The nozzle seemed to be lifting and curling up the still soft filament as it curved around the back side of the grip, leaving a very bumpy surface behind. Immediately after printing the pistol grip, I loaded up a file for a fore grip, which came out more or less perfect. The only change I made (besides filament type) was to rotate it 90 degrees on the build plate. I'm not really sure what's going on here. This is a very recent development, so I'm at a bit of a loss. It's somewhat hit-and-miss, as most of my prints have turned out to be very acceptable till now, whether I'm printing in PLA or PETG (regardless of color).

you can easily change the filament type on the left to PETG, should give you a more precise and cleaner print 👏🏼
