Designed an AMS spool adapter to use small spools, such as 200g and 250g spools, in the AMS. The central shaft can accommodate additional adapters, such as Bambu's shaft adapter, enabling the use of Bambu's spool-less filament.

However, note that to accommodate smaller spools, the overall central shaft diameter is only 37.6mm.

Standard thickness and slim versions are provided; the standard thickness is recommended for greater robustness and resistance to deformation. The slim version is suitable for mini spools; however, the standard thickness is recommended for 1kg spool-less filament.

Also, for prints with a larger surface area, allow them to cool completely before removing the model.

According to https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/notes-ams, the AMS supports spools with a width of 50-68 mm and a diameter of approximately 197-202 mm.

The spool diameter is designed to be 200mm (202mm is a tight fit, based on testing), and the overall height of the threaded spool is 68mm (standard thickness).

The central spool diameter must be greater than 43mm to accommodate the threaded end.

For greater versatility, this version has been modified. Some 1kg paper spools may require the removal of the central retainer before clamping the 1kg paper spool filament. For example, the diameter and thickness of the R3D are relatively small, and after clamping, the thickness does not exceed 68mm, allowing it to fit into the AMS. I have only tested its rotation within the AMS, not yet full usage. I also tested it with an Esun paper spool; the thickness was marginally adequate, while Polyterra was entirely unsuitable – too thick to fit.

In summary, this adapter's primary purpose is to enable the use of mini spools in the AMS. To enhance functionality, it can also secure spool-less filament. Clamping 1kg paper spools is somewhat challenging.

Changelog

==========================

2024-12-10 Update:

The spool diameter has been revised to 200mm after testing.

2024-12-02 Update:

  1. V3 version: The central retainer has been completely removed and included as an accessory in a separate print configuration. It is recommended to print a taller version of the central retainer.
  2. Uploaded models include the spool body, retainer model, and modifier model.
  3. Print configuration files for the body are uploaded for the following table. If different infill is desired (e.g., spiral), it can be changed in the object settings for the modifier.
