Modular 6 Arrow Maintenance Rack v 2.0
This is an update to the my original design that will hold up to qty-6 4.20" (10.7mm) arrows such as the Black Eagle PS27's or smaller. This print does not require supports, and has been printed and tested with PETG filament on a Bambu Labs X1C.
Updates for this revision:
Inclusion of a counter balance option as promised after v1.0 release. This option provides you the ability to insert an additional 270 grains (17.495 grams) of weight into the bottom front support. This lowers the center of gravity for added stability for full length “skinny” arrows such as the Easton ProTours (0.177" / 4.5mm) typically used for outdoor target archery. The weighted inserts are 4mm x 30mm stainless steel dowel pins commonly found on Amazon, and are inserted so that they are recessed to prevent damage to the surface the stand is on. - Reduction of weight in the upper portion of the stand also supporting the lowering of the center of gravity. This provided an over all weight reduction of 131.48grains (8.52 grams) specifically in the upper portion and led to a reduction of filament consumption from 41.05m to 38.58m.
- Colorization option. v1.0 was designed for a single filament color which was great, but I wanted to provide a little more color options. This does increase the print time as well as the filament consumption.
Potential Future Updates
The following are ideas for a minor revision (v2.1). If any of these stand out please let me know below!
- Magnetic modularity that will provide the units to be magnetically attached to each other. This would provide you with the option to pair two of these units or more
- Additional reduction in the upper supports to further lower the CG, and to improve print efficiency
- Increased arrow spacing to provide additional fletching separation with the 4.20" (10.7mm) arrows
- Front and/or rear customization. This can be easily accomplished
