Low Profile Floor Outlet Cover (Hubbell Raco 6239)

I had a pair of Hubbell 6239 floor mounted outlets in a room that I wanted to put an area rug over. I didn't use the outlets, and wanted a cover with a lower profile so that they'd be less noticeable when walking over them. This cover is 3mm thick, transitions to sit on top of the decora outlet, has some internal bracing to keep it from sagging, and has two different options for securing to the floor. There are countersunk holes for the #8 screws that hold down the original metal covers, or you can use 6-32 outlet plate screws and simply secure this cover (as if it were a wallplate) to the decora outlet itself. I've also designed a transition ring that you can place around the cover to further smooth out the transition between the floor and the cover.

Please be careful - high voltage electricity is deadly. Someone untrained or unqualified to perform this type of electrical work should not attempt it.
