Using a Phone as a Camera Monitor – My Solution
I sought a camera monitor and wondered if my old iPhone 12 Pro Max could serve the purpose. To secure the iPhone to my camera cage, I designed a special mount. This mount allows for the secure attachment of the iPhone, combined with a soft case, directly to the cage.
In practice, however, I discovered latency issues that proved problematic for my needs. Ultimately, I opted to purchase a dedicated monitor.
Nevertheless, this solution is ideal for those unconcerned by minor latency discrepancies and who wish to employ their smartphone as a camera monitor.
Given the demands, I utilized PETG-CF and secured it with a screw. Due to the tight fit, it’s likely usable even without a screw.
