Summary

This is a 1:1 replica of the famous 40mm L/60 Bofors round that was used as far back as WWII for anti-aircraft defense, such as against kamikazes in the Pacific, and is still used to this day fired by the US Air Force's AC-130 gunship. These rounds had a huge variety of uses since they were large enough to fit a massive variety of fuses, warheads, etc to serve many roles. Tracer, Armor Piercing, High Explosive, Delayed Detonation, are just some of them. I provide two options for you to print, one is Armor Piercing Tracer, and the other is High Explosive Incendiary Tracer.

This model is easy to assemble, just snap the pegs together.

The diagram below (not my design) you may find helpful if you'd like to color your 40mm to look like a particular type of round. Note that the colors are little tough to assess from this old US Navy diagram, but it gives you a good enough idea to work from.

If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below.   Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble.  It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)

Here's a link to my Buy Me a Coffee page, thanks for the support!
