Description

Features

  • inspired by the classic Peterbilt 379
  • fully printable and to be assembled with concealed swallowtail - and snap connections
  • when fully assembled, the base truck is 32cm long, 9cm wide and 12cm in height
  • requires almost no support to print
  • optional upgrades snap on and off mechanically
  • rugged design with rounded edges
  • custom bearings for decreased rolling resistance
  • support for TPU tires
  • a lot of details added since v1, including open cabin windows, tail lights on the truck and fuel tank caps
  • functional steering on the front wheels

🏗️ Snap-On Upgrades Available Now, including a trailer and containers! Please check my collection here: https://makerworld.com/collections/6062435

There's also a Radio Controlled and small version of this truck available

Troubleshooting:

  • Assembly: please follow the assembly instructions closely. Some pieces can be hard to remove when assembled incorrectly or in the wrong order
  • Tight fittings: some of the swallowtail fittings are tight on purpose. These have been designed for printing in PLA. If you experience challenges during assembly, apply little bit of force and wiggle the piece while sliding it in the fitting
  • Bed adhesion: some of the plates have pieces pretty close to the bed’s edges. This can result in poor bed adhesion and curling edges on your print. Please refer to https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/printed-model-warping. The following filament setting works very well for me: No cooling for the first 3 layers

my daughter wanted one soooo bad. with the xl, there's a lot of room in the containers to transport anything. The new cyber brick upgrade is also fantastic, will be next step for her. The build is amazing, print profile and quality is great! the fact that is modular and upgrades can be added is just a beautiful thing that i wish more creators will follow. excellent work!

Great model. Thanks. Can you tell us the scaling between the two sizes? I would like to scale up some of the parts. The sleeper to start.

Wow looks great in these colors. The difference in scale is x1.8 . Please note all upgrades are available in both sizes here on Makerworld 😉

Why are two of the rear wheels non-rolling? This was printed from the default profile

Hi @Dan203 thanks for your support and also thank you for pointing that out. That's me being sloppy - I've fixed the print profile!

No big deal, I just printed two more spinners. Thought maybe it was intentional and I was missing the reason.

Thank you for your model, I just have a question about the tank? Why is there a slope on one side? This creates a gap between the base plates... does the slope have a function?

hi @Wollbart thanks for your support. Excellent question! It has a function for potential future upgrades, but it should be invisible from outside. Would it be possible to share a picture of the gap with the baseplate?

Same issue for me too. Bevel doesnt play well with non RC Chassis bottom as it doesn't have a bevel modelled in.

thanks for your comment - I’m still trying to understand what is going on though. It’s important to note that the fuel tanks have a front and a backside - they need to be inserted with the fuel caps towards the back of the truck. Hope this helps!

A very well built model. The inclusion of the STL file made editing super easy. Very much appreciate the work you put into this.
