Description

I designed this protector to pass an EV charger cable under a closed garage door and keep the cable insulation of the cable from being crushed by the garage door.  This is ideal when you have your charger mounted inside your garage and you have your EV parked outside of the garage and want to keep the garage door closed during a charging session.

This should only be used if you have a soft garage door seal. You may need to adjust the garage door settings so that this doesn’t cause the door to rebound when it touches the protector. Every garage door’s sensitivity varies and if you need to adjust it, consult with a professional for safety reasons. I did not have to readjust mine but your mileage may vary.

This is sized for a Gen 2 Tesla Wall Connector having a cable diameter of 22mm. Measure yours before printing. If your cable is the same then print as is (at 100%) scale. If the cable you have is smaller or larger please follow the scaling guide:

I chose to design this with scaling options rather than a one-size-fits-all to minimize the height needed for a particular fitment.

The cable protector has a lip that goes on the inside of the garage so that the protector can not easily be pulled out from the outside. It also serves to provide some strength to the protector.
