Description

These Mini Filament Reels are a customizable fidget toy that's also a Keychain or Filament Swatch, in the style of your favorite brand of filament! They're addictive, and will keep you satisfied for hours.

 

Anyone can print and customize their own cute Mini Filament Reel, just add a Keyswitch (I've used Kailh Navy Switches which cost about 31 cents each!) and click away for days!

 

Assembly is super simple and should all snap into place, though I would recommend Glue for long bouts of clicking madness.

 

The Reel and Filament can be printed in any color you want, you can even use a 3D Effect Sheet to give the reel an awesome effect.

 

Included profiles are for a Bambu styled reel, a generic flat reel, and Filament with or without keychain

Printed 4 of them to go with a 3D printer for a kids bday - he was thrilled. Parts and keyboard buttons all clicked together perfectly even when mixing PLA and PETG

Snapped together perfectly and has stayed together without any need for glue. A satisfying clack akin to castanets. Not too loud, but pleasant haptics.

I'm literally obsessed with using these as swatches, and then I put a little round card in the cavity of the minature spool with all the info that I need to know. I do with that these babies could stack! and to add even more pizzaz may I sugest making the spool holder modualer? it would be a pretty simple adjustment. Thanks for the great print idea and model, we already havve 3 full racks of tiny spools!

Very cute. I think I’d print a TPU damper for inside so I can use a silent clicker. I have a silent one in there but the plastic hitting itself still makes a noise. Super cute though.
