Helm's Deep is a Castle in Arda, the fictional fantasy universe created by the English writer J. R. R. Tolkien. It is located in Middle-earth in the kingdom of Rohan, northwest of the Ered Nimrais (White Mountains), and is the site of one of the region's major fortresses, the Hornburg. It was the scene of one of the most important battles of the War of the Ring.
