Shan Hai Jing Mech Series VI—Phoenix Mech

This series features mechs inspired by mythical creatures from the Shan Hai Jing. Other series include the Bagua Mechs (based on famous mountains and rivers from various provinces, such as Chaohu Lake, Lishan Mountain, Badaling, and Nam Co) and the Mythological Mechs (based on prominent figures such as Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, and Niu Mowang).

Printing requires no supports (add a brim if the build plate adhesion is poor), and assembly requires no glue or hardware (apply firm pressure or gently tap with a small hammer if parts are tight). A very convenient Chinese-style snap-together model!

Phoenix:

The Phoenix, a pair of birds, resembles an ordinary chicken, adorned in vibrant plumage. Its head is marked with the character for “virtue,” its wings with “righteousness,” its back with “propriety,” its breast with “benevolence,” and its abdomen with “trustworthiness.”

Five hundred li further east lies Danxue Mountain, abundant in gold and jade. The Danshui River originates there, flowing south into the Bohai Sea. There is a bird there, resembling a chicken, multicolored and patterned. It is called the Phoenix. Its head is marked with the character for “virtue,” its wings with “righteousness,” its back with “propriety,” its breast with “benevolence,” and its abdomen with “trustworthiness.” This bird is self-sufficient in its diet and sings and dances naturally.
