Summary

I bought these cheap hobby knives from the dollar store. They are not bad, but the original caps are awful. They don't stay on and fall off easily. Not very safe when you are grabbing these out of your stationary drawer.

This was created to replace the cap with a more solid and stable cap that stays on.

This model is only good for a specific knife and that knife is not specified. The blade is not held tightly at all. It fits in at least a 1mm sleeve, which doesn't hold the blade at all. The sleeve it fits into isn't long enough for a standard #11 blade, You can carve the bottom with the point of the blade. It shouldn't touch. see my photo. And finally, this handle won't fit my XACTO handle at all. Finally, there is nothing in your instructions that says this cap will fall off most XACTO knives like it wasn't there. This is more dangerous than an unprotected blade in my application. If you had only made the sheath have a friction fit on the blade, then the fact that it doesn't fit most handles wouldn't matter so much. It wouldn't simply fall off the knife and cut the bejesus out of you when you took the knife out of the drawer. And please make the sheath long enough that the blade doesn't hit the bottom. There should be a couple mm clearance to avoid breaking the point of the blade.
