Description

Usually, after placing a row of books on a shelf, there will still be some space above, which is perfect for making a drawer to utilize this space.

This drawer can fit various IKEA bookshelves and storage racks, such as the BILLY series, BAGGEBO series, KALLAX series, and is also suitable for placing under a desk.

☕️ Buy Me a Coffee

I used it on the KALLAX storage cabinet, and it fits perfectly to place two drawers. There are also limit keys designed on the drawer rails to ensure the drawers are not pulled out completely.

Install

  1. Press the limit switch into the slot of the guide rail.

  2. The guide rail can be attached under the shelf partition with adhesive tape or fixed with screws. It is recommended to use adhesive tape to avoid damaging the partition. When fixing the guide rail, it is recommended to use a positioning ruler to ensure the installation position is correct and to maintain an appropriate distance from the side panel.
  3. To insert the drawer, simply push it in according to the position of the guide rail. The limit key will be pushed aside and will not affect the insertion.
  4. To remove the drawer, reach into the drawer, press the limit key, pull it out a little, then press the limit key on the other side, and you can remove the entire drawer.

I totally love these. Would you be interested in collaborating on making one slightly bigger that makes better use of the Billy bookcase and the P1S print bed? Slightly wider drawers - 30" total width - 4 would fit ideally and still fit on the 10" bed and the depth of the shelf is 10.25", so a 10" drawer again would be great. in real money: 10"=256mm depth 10.25"=260mm 30"=762mm so 4 would have 184mm wide and that leaves a little more than 5mm between the drawers and the edge of the billy and between each drawer.

Great model! To better fit my needs I replaced the bottom with gridfinity which also saves some material, but the license means I can't share this. for others, measure the interior dimensions in the slicer, put them into the GRIPS gridfinity customizer, use a negative cube to remove the current bottom, and replace with the gridfinity part.

Very good option to use the space. When using the spacer with Kallax shelves, pay attention that on the head sides (thick end board) the drawer carrier concerned must be moved a little further back (approx. 2mm) despite the tool. The edge of the thick board protrudes further outward than the inner thinner intermediate boards that divide the compartments. Without considering this, the drawer would then stand further out towards the head side than the other

Hi! I printed one and I love it. If I printed a second one, would I just use the spacer tool to make sure it's not too close to the previous drawer? My bookshelves are wider than 2 drawers so I want to have 2 on the left and leave the rest of the shelf open.

You can use this tool card on the edge of the already installed drawer to position the slide rail of the second drawer.
