Description

The nutcracker is the perfect way to add a touch of coziness to your Christmas.

A few weeks ago, my kids and wife asked me to design and 3D print one, so I created my own version.

I modeled it with the Bambulab printer's dimensions in mind, ensuring each piece maximized the printing area and minimized the need for post-processing and the result was great!

I think my version would make other people happy too, so I decided to share the file for free on Makerworld. 胡桃夹子

Thanks for the awesome model! I reduced the size since i didn't need a 4' tall nutcracker, but its still great. A few comments on the fit, one of the arm sockets is deeper than the other so the pins are not even when inserted. I assumed the "spool" shaped pin was for the neck connection but it was too loose. When I increased the size a bit it gave me a nice friction fit and that could still swivel.

I concur with previous ⬆️ comment. Excellent print and I ❤️ it! But... 😁 Some fine tuning is needed for perfection! I haven't glued anything yet just assembled the part on the 33.3% print plate and I ended up with extra bits and one hand falling off. Perhaps the scaling down does that, but I'm still wondering why there is parts over? I now have 2 thick rods and 1 small short pin left, why is that? I also think there is too much space between the arms to the body, it would probably look better if there is a more snug fit to that. Other than that, it is beautiful, and I love the model! ❤️ @BlenderHead

Is it possible to move the hole up a bit in the arms so that the shoulders dont collide with the locks of hair? That would also be a better look for the arms! I would love if I don't have them so far away from the body, like they are now. I am new at 3D printing and I don't know how to do this...Sorry... Another thing, is it possible to make hands that can hold stuff like a staf or a sword? Also many nutcrackers have a bent right arm for holding a staf or a christmas tree. That would be a really cool feature in an already very nice nutcracker version! Thank you so much for this! Boosted you twice! 🥰❤️ @BlenderHead

Beautiful print! The head being uneven is only because I don’t have the arm on correctly. So glad you created this! Sharing a picture from before (minus hands & base) to show his size relative to the Walmart 6ft beside him.

I've bought and painted the "real" Walmart ones and this one might be my favorite. The size is pretty. I must also say the texture and way it's printed actually makes it easier to paint. I cannot believe how similar they are!!! I'm amazed at how you got every detail correct. This print ended up taking us a bit over 120 hrs to print due to us adding more supports. it printed perfectly with zero errors. I tried to print things in the thread filament colors I wanted it to be (body/arms/boots and base). I decoupaged the pants and star bodice on with napkins. I used ribbon for the belt and hat trim! rear was painted with acrylic paints bought from a craft store!!!

Thank you so much for your kind words — your message truly made my day! I spent a lot of time refining the 3D model, so hearing that it printed perfectly and brought you joy means the world to me. You did an incredible job with the final result — the details, colors, and creativity you added are just amazing. Really grateful you took the time to share this. Thank you again! 🙏✨

what a great print! so great Details. used all my four printers to complete this in three days. I added some modifyers to the parts to reduces the needed filament. Needed roughly only 2.4Kg material. thank you for your Work!

Hi, I need to work on that for the P1S again. I mostly printed that with my Creality K2 plus, so I need to adapt.

Hi there! I see in you picture that you´ve moved the armhole up! When I started printing these a year ago I could not figure out how to move it so I just chucked all the parts in a bag and forgot about it... This year I finally managed to figure out how to do that myself 2 days ago so now i´m finally going to finish my already printed parts with new arms with moved armholes! Sooo much better look and the arms sits tight to the body for a clean look! I love it now! Love your colours! <3 @gizmo43

exactly, I didn't like that the arms stood so far from the body. I shortened the pins and moved the hole for the arm 🤗
