This clip is designed for Bambu spools only and IS AMS COMPATIBLE IF YOU PUT IT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SPOOL (as looking at it when its loaded in the AMS unit).
This is a very small filament clip that uses hardly any filament. I used Bambu Labs PETG-HF filament. A small brim is cheap insurance and I've found that when removing them from the build plate you have to push on the larger diameter and not the smaller side. I used a smooth plate with glue.
